💳 $489 Billion AI Debt: Big Tech is Borrowing Like Crazy!?
According to Goldman Sachs strategist, AI related debt issuance reached around $489B in 2026, already surpassing the estimated $322B issued during all of 2025. Around 40% came directly from hyperscalers, including:

Amazon: Raised around $53 billion in debt. Included a $37 billion US bond offering. Plus more than $16 billion in euro denominated bonds

Alphabet (Google): Issued around $20 billion in bonds. Funding AI infrastructure, data centers, and Gemini related expansion.

Oracle: Raised around $25 billion. One of the most aggressive AI infrastructure spenders. Oracle’s long term debt increased from $96 billion to $149 billion in one fiscal year.

Meta: Continued borrowing after a roughly $30 billion bond offering tied to AI infrastructure projects.
Building AI infrastructure is extremely expensive. Goldman Sachs expects companies will continue using Corporate bonds to support the AI expansion.
Companies are essentially borrowing today to build the infrastructure they believe will power the next decade of technology. The winners may gain enormous advantages, but the financial risks are becoming much larger too.

🛡️ Sakana AI Put an Entire Security Team Inside One API
Sakana AI released Fugu-Cyber, a cybersecurity focused version of its Fugu AI system. It works as a multi agent orchestration system behind one API, assigns different security tasks to specialized AI agents:

One agent analyzes code vulnerabilities

One agent researches threats

One agent verifies exploits

One agent reviews the final findings
So the process is like this: User request → Fugu-Cyber → Multiple specialist agents → Verification → Final report. This approach aims to reduce mistakes because multiple agents review different parts of the problem.
Sakana AI reports that Fugu-Cyber is hitting an 86.9% success rate on the CyberGym benchmark and 72.1% on CTI-REALM. That puts its performance right in the same league as frontier models like GPT-5.5-Cyber and Mythos Preview.
There are still some valid concerns. Running multiple agents at once can require more compute power, which drives up costs. There are also questions about transparency, you might not always know exactly how the underlying models are making their decisions, and adding more moving parts always introduces a bit more complexity.
