🏗️ OpenMythos: A 22-Year-Old Leveled the AI Playing Field

openmythos-a-22-year-old-leveled-the-ai-playing-field

Anthropic tried to put Claude Mythos in a high-security vault, claiming it was too dangerous for the public to handle. Then comes Kye Gomez, a 22-year-old dropout, who basically released OpenMythos to the world in under 2 weeks.

The core of Gomez’s reverse-engineering is a shift in how AI thinks. OpenMythos takes a small subset of layers and loops the data through them repeatedly. This story is a nightmare for AI regulators and “moat” defenders for 3 big reasons:

  1. If a self-taught developer can clone a frontier architecture in days, proprietary hardware is no longer a shield.

  2. While Anthropic was carefully vetting partners through Project Glasswing, the unfiltered version is now effectively in the wild.

  3. We just saw Big Tech commit $1 trillion to massive data centers, but if ‘small and loopy’ is better than ‘big and flat,’ that $1 trillion might be heading toward a massive efficiency wall.

Gomez is building a decentralized version of the superintelligence that Meta and Google are spending billions to centralize. OpenMythos is a warning shot: the next world-changing AI probably won’t come from a boardroom, it’ll come from a GitHub repository.

AI BREAKTHROUGH

🏥 Google DeepMind’s AI Co-Clinician is a Reality for The Exam Room

google-deepminds-ai-co-clinician-is-a-reality-for-the-exam-room

Google DeepMind just unveiled its AI co-clinician, and it’s a real-time, video-capable teammate designed to sit in on your doctor’s appointments. This system watches your breathing, checks your inhaler technique, and helps your doctor spot things the human eye might miss.

In blind tests, physicians preferred this AI over their current tools by a massive 67% to 26%. DeepMind is introducing a concept called Triadic Care, a three-way partnership between the Patient, the Doctor, and the AI.

  • Talker: The module that interacts with the patient and retrieves evidence.

  • A silent overseer module that watches the Talker for unsafe medical advice.

  • Every piece of advice is cross-referenced against clinical-grade evidence and cited in real-time for the doctor to verify.

In 98 realistic primary care queries, the system logged zero critical errors in 97 of them. It beat every other frontier model (including GPT-5.4) on open-ended drug questions.

In video simulations, the AI correctly guided patients through shoulder maneuvers to find rotator cuff injuries to help diagnose myasthenia gravis. Even with these scores, the study found that experienced physicians still beat the AI overall.
