GLM-5.2 is Z.ai’s open-weight model that matches near-frontier coding performance at a fraction of the cost of Claude or GPT.
It runs on a 753-billion-parameter MoE architecture with a 1 million token context window, two reasoning modes, and an MIT license.
The model beats GLM-5.1 by a wide margin on coding benchmarks and stays close to Claude Opus 4.8 on long-horizon tasks. It also leads the Design Arena leaderboard for frontend and UI generation.
API pricing stays at $1.4 input and $4.4 output per million tokens, unchanged from GLM-5.1 despite the upgrade.
